About the Author

Sarah Byrne

Sarah Dohoney Byrne is an attorney with Moore & Van Allen PLLC in Charlotte, North Carolina where she leads the firm’s Human Trafficking Pro Bono Project. The Project provides free legal representation to survivors of sex- and labor-trafficking. Several years of experience in representing survivors led to a demand by institutional clients for training and advice on anti-trafficking programs and compliance with related regulation. Sarah provides victim-informed advice to organizations seeking to strengthen their response to trafficking and ensure social responsibility. Originally from the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts, Sarah received her bachelor’s degree from Boston College and law degree from Suffolk University Law School. She lives with her husband and three children in North Carolina.
